Submitted by Jared on Tue, 09/23/2008 - 9:52amPretty much i've just been enjoying myself the past 3 weeks here at home, Been back on the Dh bike 4 days a week and I'm loving it! Been out on both days on the weekend and Jess has been driving me for crack of dawn sessions for a couple hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so its been awesome! I'm starting to feel like my old self again on it too. Starting to get some nice drifts goin, and feeling aggressive, so that makes things even more fun!
Canberra World cup and offseason week #1
Submitted by Jared on Thu, 09/11/2008 - 7:57pmIt was straight from Beijing back the Australia and 1 day at home before a 230 am wake on Thursday morning to get to the airport for a 530 flight (airport is 2hrs from home) and get back on the mountainbike for the home round of the MTb world cup in Canberra.
what can I say, Australia has the best crowds! Fort william has always held the crown as being the best atmosphere for the world cup season but Canberra for sure beat it! The support from all the people was unreal! the best feeling you can have at a race.

Olympic BMX, run, won and done!
Submitted by Jared on Sat, 08/23/2008 - 8:43pmWell, the big show is all done, and I have to say it was an awesome experience, the olympics is just so much bigger then you would even think, and being here has been awesome.
Racing was going good, I got through my quarters comfortably, with 2 wins and a second after thinking there was noone behind me and shutting it down mid last straight and allowing Roger Rinderknecht to pass.....ooops haha, no worries in the end.
Olympics Day 1
Submitted by Scott on Wed, 08/20/2008 - 9:24pmAs Jared doesn't have net access I thought I'd fill you all in. Today the seeding and quarter finals were run for both women and men. Jared had a reasonably good first seeding run leaving him in 7th position. From what I can see in the replay he wasn't going at 100%, playing it safe. Second run didn't go to plan and resulted in a DNF after messing up the first straight. A missed opportunity to go faster which left him in 11th place after both runs.
Obviously unphased, of the three quarters finals Jared won two, only being edged out of the third victory on the line by Roger Rinderknecht.
Dale Holmes Interview & Olympic BMX Dates
Submitted by Jared on Fri, 08/15/2008 - 9:33amI'm without net access at the moment so as you can probably figure, the updates are scarce. When we arrive in Beijing early next week (we're still in Sydney) I should have net access there and be able to crank out a couple updates from the villiage.
In the mean time you can check out an interview I did with Dale Holmes.
