Offseason, and Random Bits of Information.

So its offseason ay, been not too much of a lazy ass, training certainly hasn't been at the top of my to do list, but ive been doing enough riding to keep some good strength and fitness up. Just keeping it fun, it's definately nice to not have a day to day plan, and just ride as I feel like doing it. Which makes me realize how much I love riding my bike, no matter what it is, DH, XC, 4X, BMX, Road....just whatever. coz im still getting out 4-5 days a week.

Apart from some road and XC rides around home, Ive had a couple good days DH with the local T-Town shredders, and been getting away with my brother for days at various BMX tracks in the area, my Favourite track right now being the Sunshine Coast Hinterland track, they have the worst start hill I have seen in a long time, but the track is good.

Had my best stack for the past 2 years at Ashmore BMX track last Saturday, the 35 foot triple into turn 2 and some decent crosswind clamied me. I had hit it good all day, but noticed the wind picking up, and before I knew It I was doing a belly/face slide down the backside at almost 50km/h. a Broken helmet, Lots of skin, and a major winding was the result, but all good apart from that.

I have to say a big old "suck it" to the euro riders haha, its 25-28 degress C every day, and this time of year in the southern hemisphere is the best haha!

While it's nice to not have a set training plan, im starting to miss that feeling of self improvement, the feeling you get when your doing everything you can to be a faster rider every day. I feel like i'm going nowhere right now.

My boy Sam Willoughby has been killing it! winning 2 of the last 3 BMX world cups and taking the BMX SX overall title, and getting the BMX rider of the year award. Proof that hard work pays off kiddies!

To most people trying to get in contact with me, I appologize, but I'm not good friends with mobile phones, and Im very much im my bubble of enjoying time to myself.

The Toowoomba BMX open day is this weekend, so that will be a bit of fun, the wind has been nice through the days lately (anyone who has raced here in T-Towm before knows the winds likes to kick up at times)so fingers crossed for a good day, the track is so good to ride when its not windy.

Then the 4X state champs are here in Toowoomba also on the 15th of November, so ill have a go at that too. Should be good.

Thats about all the goss for now

Awesome!

I'm sure you've heard this alot lately, but awesome job on finally grabbing the world title! The grubby little kid from Toowoomba finally got what he deserves and all the hard work was worth it! Congratulations Cyril! Wish I was in your shoes.
Keep riding hard.
